CKR - The Power Symbol

All about the Reiki Power Symbol CKR

October 9, 2012
Reiki symbols are basically Sanskrit derived Japanese forms that helps improve the flow of Life Force Energy. These symbols are an essential part of Reiki practice and they used to be secret and revealed only to Reiki students who are initiated into the advance or master level. However, with the technology available today it’s hard to keep anything secret :) , so information about them can easily be found on the internet.
Although these symbols do not have any special power in of themselves, using these them after attunement helps a practitioner to focus the Reiki energies. There are primarily three symbols used in traditional Reiki. They are CKR or the Reiki Power SymbolSHK or the Emotional or Mental Healing Symbol and HSZSN or the Distance Healing Symbol.

Meaning of CKR or The Reiki Power Symbol

CKR which is considered one of the first symbols used in Usui Reiki essentially means “Placing all the powers of the universe here”. The Reiki power symbol basically works like a “switch” that helps to instantly increase Reiki practitioner’s ability to channel the energies. The main purpose of using it is to enhance the power of Reiki and draw the energy around and concentrate it on the required purpose. The power symbol looks like a coil, and it is meant to not only increase and decrease the flow of energies, but also aids in modifying the flow of “ki” energies to a great extent. The CKR can be drawn in both counter and spiral clockwise directions. Some Reiki masters draw it counter clockwise when applied in areas or places where there is excess energy, and clockwise in areas where there is deficient energy or used during a Reiki session in a person who tends to lack energy.

How to Use the Reiki Power Symbol

The Reiki power symbol is used primarily to connect with Reiki energy at the start of a session and also to help boost the Reiki power whenever it is required during a session. Reiki practitioners have their own preference about using the Cho Ku Rei symbol. As an example a healer might draw or visualizes the symbol in front of them and repeat the mantra “CKR” three times.
Using this power symbol on the palms of the hand and on each chakra helps to clear channels and empowers a practitioner’s hands before giving a Reiki treatment. Similarly, while using the power symbol over the crown of the clients head helps create positive energy around him, using CKR over the client’s lower back and behind his heart helps seal the energy in at the end of the treatment. Although CKR can be used anytime during a Reiki session, it proves to be especially effective when it is used in the start (to increase Reiki energy) or at the end (to close a treatment and seal the Reiki energies).

Example Uses of the Reiki Power Symbol

The Reiki power symbol is an all purpose symbol that can be used anywhere and everywhere for anything. Here are a few ways that CKR can be used.

Empower other Reiki Symbols

Using the Reiki power symbol before other Reiki symbols such as Mental or Emotional Symbol or the Distance Healing Symbol proves to be highly beneficial in empowering these symbols and helping them work in a more efficient way.

Helps in Spot Treatment

Drawing CKR on a specific part of your body helps in focusing the Reiki energies on that particular spot, thereby helping cure or heal the problem in a successful way.

Clears Negative Energies

Drawing CKR mentally proves to be highly useful in clearing all the stagnated energies during a Reiki session. Similarly, drawing it on the walls of a room helps in clearing all the negative energies in the room, and drawing it in the atmosphere around a physical space aids in cleansing the area in an effective manner.

Provide Protection

Drawing a large Power Symbol in front of a person or on each of his chakras works as a shield and protects the person from negative energies in successful manner. Using this Reiki symbol helps create a protective field around an individual, thereby protecting him from all negative energies around. Reiki works on different levels (physically, emotionally or mentally) and Cho Ku Rei will naturally provide protection on all these levels.

Drawing the Reiki power symbol on your medication can go a long way in helping reduce the side effects of the drugs and helps them work in a more effective manner.

Improve Relationships

Drawing Cho Ku Rei on greetings, gifts and business cards will enhance both personal and professional relationships in a positive way. However, remember that although relationships cannot be controlled with Reiki, using these positive energies will work for the highest good and bring about the best results for the relationship.

Prevent Misfortune

The Reiki power symbol helps in connecting to the universal energy instantly, and using it can help prevent a misfortune or a bad event to a great extent. Since a misfortune essentially happens to an individual because of the inharmonious energies around them, using Cho Ku Rei proves to be highly beneficial in purifying the energy system instantly, thereby preventing a misfortune in a successful manner.

Enhance Creative Levels

It also helps revive your first three chakras; it not only helps in strengthening and activating their harmonization, but also helps to enhance your creativity to unimaginable levels in a positive way.

Activating the Law of Attraction

Cho Ku Rei proves to be an amazing law of attraction focusing tool. Adding new functions to this symbol and having a clear statement and good intention of what you want, you can use this Reiki symbol to help you successfully achieve positive results. Just be sure to keep in mind that Reiki is an intelligent energy that works for the highest good, therefore you should not form any attachments to the desired outcome, but instead be open to new, creative solutions and experiences.
